Newsletter archives

Here are links to newsletters showing how Myra’s Wells is bringing clean water to Burkina Faso. They cover the period from March 2017 to March 2018. Newsletters after then will appear under this menu option, as separate pages, as they are produced.

Click on the links to read these older newsletters:

March 2018

The Spring 2018 newsletter. It included news, pictures and links to stories about 7 wells. There was also news of the container sent in November 2017 which arrived in Ouagadougou in January 2018

December 2017

There were two emails this month. The first was the Winter 2017 newsletter which reported on the 12 wells that were drilled in October and November 2017. This brought us to 99 wells, so close to the landmark 100 wells.

The second email was sent out about 10 days later to report the good news that the 100th well had been drilled – at the village of Tangseega.

September 2017

The Autumn 2017 newsletter reported on 4 wells which had been drilled before the rainy season started. There was also one failure and the details of a water tower built at a school.

June 2017

The Summer 2017 newsletter brought updates on some older wells, news of new ones and a testimony from a lady whose life had been transformed. She had a well near her house and had found new life as a Christian.

March 2017

The Spring 2018 newsletter had details of wells that had been recently completed. The number of wells on the list then was 81 and we were stilling waiting to be able to drill number 82. What a difference a year has made!

This page is being written in May 2018

A year further on, there are 114 wells – the full list is on this link. Still Myra’s Wells is bringing clean water to Burkina Faso. To see how to help, visit our “How to Donate” page.

Who are we?

Our charity provides life-saving water wells in Burkina Faso – one of the poorest countries in West Africa. A few places do have mains water, but even that supply lacks purity.
100% of donations received go to pay for wells. The Trustees in the UK and Burkina Faso receive no remuneration for their work. The salaries of the two administrative staff employed in Burkina Faso are paid by the UK Trustees, or using funds specifically donated for this purpose.
